MEET
ROO-VER

Australia’s first lunar rover

Australia. We’re going to the Moon!

The ELO₂ Consortium has been selected to deliver Australia’s first lunar rover in partnership with the Australian Space Agency.

The semi-autonomous rover will travel to the Moon on a future Artemis mission, supporting NASA’s Moon to Mars activities.

The program will see ELO₂ design, construct and operate the Australian-made rover, ROO-VER, on the lunar surface.

Controlled from Earth, Australia’s rover will explore the Moon’s surface, collecting data and supporting global space science and exploration goals. It will also demonstrate Australian innovations on the Moon.

By actively contributing to NASA's Artemis program, we are paving the way for an exciting future in space exploration.

Why it matters

The mission isn’t just about going to the Moon. It’s about growing Australia’s space capability, building new industries, and creating opportunities for students, researchers and businesses right here at home.

Our mission is to foster new horizons in the Australian space sector, focusing on the development of essential services for lunar exploration missions.

ROO-VER is a story of ingenuity, collaboration, and national pride.

It’s a mission we can all be part of.

Meet the team

ELO₂ is the industry consortium that will design and develop the fully realised rover for the Roo-ver Mission to the Moon. ELO₂ is made up of start-ups, SMEs, major resources companies, universities and other research partners.

The Roo-ver Mission brings together Australian expertise and ingenuity to design, build and test a lunar rover capable of operating in one of the harshest environments we know.

The Mission is already underway, with engineers and researchers around Australia working on designs, cameras, comms, wheels, power generation and more.

Join us as we go to the Moon.
